One of the most fantastic things about what I do is being able to play a small part in of one of the most special days in peoples lives. That honour is made even more special when it is a friend who you have known for many years. Andrew and I were colleagues when we both worked for an online flower store (I’m not going to do the math as to exactly how many years ago!)

But since that time, Andrew finished his studies and followed his career path and I started The White Orchid. With his engagement to Sophie it was so lovely to be asked to catch up again and discuss all things wedding flowers. Special thank you to Love Fool Photography for the following gorgeous images from their day.

Sophie had an idea of what she liked and had drawn inspiration from a similar bouquet in my portfolio. With a stylish black and white theme we opted for seasonal white flowers including the most stunning locally grown white Dahlias (I adore working with these blooms), plus snapdragons, lisianthus, freesias, roses and lots of green textured foliage.

To bring in a little Industrial Style we used gold metallic. The matching floral Groom and Groomsmen buttonholes were accented with gold metallic wire.

Fresh rose petal cones created that joyful celebration after saying ‘I do’. Veale Gardens in the South Parklands created the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.

The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the brides bouquet. Altogether they created a very smart looking bridal party indeed.

Andrew and Sophie wanted a cool stylish warehouse vibe, so I quickly recommended one of my favourite venues, Electra House, for their wedding reception.

We adorned each guest table with gold metallic brass vessels filled with matching seasonal white flowers and foliage to tie the whole look together. They sat in the middle of the table, allowing space for shared platters to surround.

Thank you, Andrew and Sophie, I loved creating your wedding flowers and wish you a lifetime of love and laughter together,
